An investigation by SBT journalism revealed images of doctors caught clocking in and leaving the premises without completing their work hours at one of the largest public hospitals in São Paulo. The Public Prosecutor's Office of São Paulo (MPSP) will open two investigations following the complaints by SBT about doctors who clock in but do not complete their work hours at the Heliópolis Hospital, in the southern part of the city of São Paulo. The institution is part of the state network. The first investigation, in the civil sphere, will investigate administrative improprieties, such as the misuse of public funds. Directors, hospital doctors, and members of the State Health Department will be investigated for negligence or connivance with the irregularities. The second criminal investigation will be against the doctors, accused of clocking in and leaving. They will be held accountable for embezzlement and inserting false information. Speaking to SBT, the director of the state hospital, Abrão Rapoport, who has been in the position for 30 years, said he was shocked by the complaints and that he will take action. Hospital employees, however, claim that the institution's management is complicit in the irregularities committed by the doctors. #sbtnews #sbtbrasil #Brazil
