(EXCLUSIVE) 'REMEMBERING DAIM' Yesterday marked 40 days since the late Tun Daim Zainuddin passed away. The statesman who twice served as Finance Minister breathed his last at the age of 86. The public only knows Daim as a well-known politician and businessman both domestically and internationally, but not many know the other side of Daim that has been 'kept under wraps' for so long. The late Daim was apparently a philanthropist who had channeled millions of ringgit to religious institutions, the construction of mosques and suraus, and funded thousands of poor students and orphans both domestically and internationally, all of which he did 'secretly' without anyone noticing. Among them, Daim had built religious schools, orphanages and funded thousands of students in Aceh, Indonesia, which was badly affected by the tsunami in 2004. For this special episode, we interviewed famous journalist Datuk A. Kadir Jasin, who was also a close friend of the late Daim, who will share the ups and downs of knowing Daim for decades. We also flew to Aceh to track down the religious schools and orphanages in question and hear first-hand the feelings of the teachers and students who have benefited from the late's contributions over the years. Don't forget to watch the special episode 'Mengenang Daim' in the Xklusif Bersama Syahril podcast on the Tanah Berdaulat TV Youtube channel at 9pm tonight (Monday 23/12). Exclusive, just for you!
