The municipality of Figeac has commissioned the Régie Sud association to produce a documentary film on a significant chapter in the town's history: the roundup of 12 May 1944. This project is part of the cultural programme "1944-2024 Figeac se souviens", organised throughout 2024. By giving voice to witnesses of the roundup and children of deportees, and drawing on explanations from historians, the film aims to relate and explain the events that marked our town and our region 80 years ago. We invite you to discover a preview of an extract, with the interventions of Nicolas Rose, historian at the National Office of Combatants and Victims of War of the Lot, and Jean-Pierre Baux, colonel of the gendarmerie. The public presentation of the film in its entirety will take place on Sunday, June 16 at 4:30 p.m. (l'Astrolabe, Charles-Boyer cinema). ERRATUM: at 5:13, you should hear "Groscassan" and not "Malbouyssou" -------- Don't hesitate to subscribe to our channel: Web TV - Ville de Figeac: / @villedefigeac3767 Site: https://ville-figeac.fr/ Facebook: / ville-de-figeac-114481880470806 #Figeac #VilledeFigeac
