Neanderthal (Latin: Homo neanderthalensis) or primitive man is one of the species of the genus Homo that inhabited Europe and parts of Western Asia and Central Asia. The environmental traces of Neanderthal found in Europe date back to about 350,000 years ago.[2] Neanderthal man became extinct in Europe about 24,000 years ago. This human is recorded for his ability to speak, but it is noted that he lacked the ability to compose complex words or form more complex concepts such as art and others, as they remained very primitive. The average size of the brain of an adult Neanderthal was approximately 10% larger than the average size of the brain of a modern human.
