December 28, 2024 – Saturday, Apresantek After the wise men had left, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child to kill him.” Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and departed that night to Egypt. He remained there until the death of Herod, so that what the Lord had spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled: “Out of Egypt I called my son.” When Herod saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, he was furious and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and all its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” Matthew 2:13-18
