Near Teolo there is a small waterfall immersed in the woods; it is a very spectacular naturalistic site. To reach this pleasant waterfall, start at the third bend of the SP43, where there is a small clearing on the edge of the road; here an information panel of the Euganean Hills Regional Park has been installed. The path immediately enters the wood of centuries-old chestnut trees. The waterfall is known by the name of Schivanoia, from the toponym that identifies the location where in the 15th century the rich Capodilista family held vast landed estates and a holiday home. From the bed of the Contea stream you can observe the vein-layer of magmatic rock (latite) which, having formed a morphological step in the valley, gave rise to the waterfall. The latite vein is much more resistant to water erosion than the surrounding sedimentary rocks and for this reason a detachment of the blocks occurred along the vertical fractures of the vein itself. The site, exposed to the north and protected by the rock walls and vegetation, is an ideal destination even on the hottest summer days.
