Historical Dialogue of Polite Ulama with LDII Members (Gorontalo visited by Ustadz Dzulqarnain MS) On Monday night in December 2008 I chatted with figures and LDII preachers about the incident that happened to Mr. Mauludin. I gave them my opinion "it would be better if we find out the real news that happened to Mr. Mauludin, so that our worries can be answered", some of them refused and gave the reason "let's just OBEY THE IMAM, we don't need to look for something that has been ijtihad by the imam which is clear that Mauludin has apostatized". Alhamdulillah I met with Mr. Irwan Taniboya (Former Chairman of the DPD LDII PALU and now an LDII donor in Gorontalo) and Ustadz Romy who is none other than Mr. Irwan's son-in-law and also the LDII village preacher. in between conversations I offered Mr. Hamzah Balikpapan's phone number so that with that number we could get information and track Mr. Mauludin's whereabouts. And Alhamdulillah it paid off and we established information with Mauludin about what happened. The extraordinary information given made us very incredulous "why can LDII say it is a deviant sect". even though all this time Mauludin who had taught us suddenly changed course. I was in a dilemma to believe or not to believe. and it was not that easy for me to believe the LDII's deviant agenda. to be honest in my heart maybe this is what I have been waiting for. Mr. Irwan has stated that he is leaving LDII since receiving the information, informing us that “this month (December) Gorontalo will have Ustadz Dzulqornain to give a scientific lecture, coincidentally Ustadz Dzulqornain is an alumnus of the markiz Darul Hadits Yemen (Student of Syaikh Muqbil Bin Hadi Alwadi'ey رحمه الله), it would be good if we asked him about the knowledge we have gained from LDII. That night at Mr. Irwan's residence, we invited Ustadz Dzulqornain to take the time to give advice and invite a dialogue. The theme of the dialogue revealed the root of LDII's problems, is what we have been doing so far in accordance with sharia? As an LDII preacher who has been perfectly brainwashed to become a Madigol fighter, I was really worried about attending the event that had been agreed upon by us with Mr. Irwan and Ustadz Romy, "what if after I attend the event, I will apostatize". And that night I was like a poor lebai who was confused about choosing between two sides. 💽The following is our dialogue with Ustadz Dzulqarnain M Sanusi: ❓We ask: what do you think is the meaning of congregation in accordance with syar'i because among us the meaning of congregation is taken from wa'tashimu bihablillahi jami'an wala tafarroqu (Albaqarah 103): and hold fast to Allah's religion in congregation), as well as the hadith which says Man aro da buhbuhatal jannah fal yamil jamaah (whoever wants to live in the midst of heaven must be a congregation)," with the above argument as the core reinforcement of LDII's teachings that they are the ones who have the right to go to heaven, apart from those who are obliged to go to hell for not respecting and recognizing their congregation." 📍Ustadz replied: the word Al-Jamaah in the description of the schools of thought of scholars from the past to the present is recorded by Imamul Syathi l-Ithisom and others, it returns to five things and these five things return to two things: Some say that the congregation is the companions, the congregation is the truth brought by the Prophet, some say that the congregation is As-sawaadul adzam the largest group of Muslims, they are the greatest in the time of the companions and those who deviate very little and if we follow this interpretation, it will return to one meaning, namely following the Qur'an and As-sunnah according to the path of the prophet and the companions. There is another opinion from Al-imamul At-thobary: that the congregation is the Muslims under the leadership of a state leader. And the understanding of the congregation is two, namely jamaatul abdan wa jamaatul haq: 📌Jamaatul abdan means the congregation of the body, the body of all Muslims is united under the leadership of a state leader. 📌And Jamaatul Haq means a congregation of truth, namely the Qur'an and Sunnah in accordance with the guidance of Rasulullah Shalallahu alaihi wassallam (and if we demand a leader of the congregation, then Rasulullah Shalallahu alaihi wasallam will be the leader. That is the meaning of the congregation. ❓We ask: what about the proposition narrated and uttered by Umar Bin Khatthab which reads La Islama illa bil Jamaah wa la jamaata illa bil imarah wala imarah illa bil baiat (it is not said to be Islamic except in congregation, it is not said to be congregation unless it is a congregation and it is not said to be an imam unless it is obedient).
