Single-track tram lines with passing loops have their own incredible atmosphere, especially when they are routed in non-urbanized or post-industrial areas. Such trams are more often seen somewhere in the cities of the former Soviet Union than in Poland. In Sosnowiec, there are two incredibly interesting lines that literally reflect this atmosphere. Although one of them is currently undergoing a major renovation and will receive two tracks on most of its route, the other will still resemble a suburban tram more than a large-capacity and frequently running means of transport. Which lines are we talking about? Of course, those in the east of Sosnowiec, lines 26 and 27. They were built in the 1950s at the same time and were to constitute one line from Mysłowice to Strzemieszyce. However, the plans were verified, but an interesting route and various engineering structures unusual for city tram lines were built and operate to this day.
