After studying acting in Madrid, George discovered stand-up comedy and decided to make it his career. Since then, he has been one of the pioneers of the recent Venezuelan stand-up scene, creating one of the first open mics in Caracas and serving as a mentor to many other comedians. Years later, he replicated this phenomenon in Miami, where his show, “The George Harris Show,” has become the most popular stand-up event in the city. Additionally, he is the author of one-man shows such as “¿Quién se quieres ir?”, “Típico,” “De Toda la Vida,” “Hijo Único,” and “El Pueblo de Uno,” which he has presented in more than 70 cities around the world. In our conversation, we talk about comedians, their experiences working at RCTV, how he discovered stand-up while studying in Madrid, the quality of the Venezuelan audience, and the time when one person thought stand-up was a sales technique.
