Today, I have the pleasure of welcoming Julien FÉBREAU, sports journalist and official voice of Formula 1, which he comments on Canal + alongside the former Canadian world champion, Jacques VILLENEUVE. Julien shares his childhood with us between a father, a rally-raid driver (3 Dakars to his credit) converted to Rallycross, a discipline in which he became French champion in Lohéac in Brittany. And a mother with whom Julien is passionate about Formula 1. To the point, for the young Julien, of being very early firmly decided that motor racing and in particular Formula 1 would be at the heart of his life. Obviously, this sounds obvious now that we know Julien's talent for making us all vibrate to the frenetic rhythm of single-seaters and in particular when the one in the lead is driven by a Frenchman by the name of Pierre GASLY during the Monza GP in 2020: “Accelerate, Accelerate! “However, we cannot imagine the triggers, the work and the rigor that were necessary to get there when we are from a Breton family and that nothing destined us to find ourselves at the heart of the Canal + system in 2013 when the channel acquired the rights to Formula 1 alongside Jacques VILLENEUVE, Franck MONTAGNY, Thomas SENECAL and Margot LAFFITE later. In short, Julien gave himself the means to have the life he dreamed of (he who could have been a physiotherapist) by becoming the voice of Formula 1. But, Julien is also an ace driver, since in 2008 he ended up following in his father's footsteps in Rallycross, I won't spoil it for you but, be careful, it's going strong, very strong even! You can imagine that during this episode, Julien gave us many anecdotes about the behind the scenes of what the life of a Formula 1 commentator is like, some joyful others much less so, because unfortunately this is also part of motor sports.
