The first chapter of Argentine history begins with a people uniting to fight against the English invasions and ends with the start of a civil war. Between these two events, very intense years follow one another. While the English invasions saw the emergence of national identity for the first time, in the May Revolution, the people, protagonists of anonymous men, gave their first cry for freedom. Much blood will have to be shed to drive the Spanish out of the Río de la Plata, as will the future nation. Televisión Pública and Canal Encuentro present “Ver La Historia” (See History): a series that addresses the 200 years of Argentine history 1806-2010. Made up of 13 chapters, the series is organized around significant socio-political events in Argentine history.
