Frontal lobe epilepsy was for years confused with psychiatric diseases and, in fact, it continues to be a clinical challenge given the wide spectrum of clinical manifestations that limit schizoid behavior. Frontal lobe ictal disorders could be confused with a wide variety of diseases, from nocturnal-predominant sleep disorders to movement disorders, such as paroxysmal nocturnal dystonia or the autosomal recessive nocturnal epilepsy syndrome, which is characterized by short-duration hypermotor paroxysms of nocturnal predominance.
