Today we dissect «Es que somos muy pobres» by Juan Rulfo, within his anthology 'El llano en llamas' (Editorial Fondo de Cultura Económica de México, 1953). Juan Rulfo was a Mexican writer, screenwriter and photographer, belonging to the generation of '52. His works present a combination of reality and fantasy, whose action takes place in rural settings after the Mexican Revolution and the Cristero War.
