A special feature on the US presidential election was broadcast over three weeks on "Hodo Tokushu". The broadcast on Saturday, October 26th delved into the immigration issue, which became one of the biggest points of contention. "Haitian immigrants are eating pets." Caster Kensuke Murase headed to Springfield, Ohio, a city shaken by the unfounded remarks made by former President Trump. Although city authorities denied the remarks as "groundless," the information spread on social media, and elementary schools attended by Haitian immigrants received bomb threats. When interviewing residents, they believed the false information, saying, "The information from major media is all lies," and "What's written on social media is everything," and anti-immigrant sentiment grew.
