The Culture & Diversity Foundation introduces you to Schools of Architecture. Find out more about these schools ➜ http://www.culturecommunication.gouv.... For more information ➜ http://www.fondationcultureetdiversit... -------- Architecture education is organized in a group of 22 higher education institutions: 20 National Schools of Architecture (ENSA), public administrative institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture; 2 other schools, the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Strasbourg (INSA) under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and the Special School of Architecture (ESA) in Paris, founded in 1865, a private law association, award diplomas recognized as equivalent to national diplomas by the Ministry of Culture. The École de Chaillot, the Training Department of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, a public institution under the authority of the Ministry of Culture, mainly prepares students for the specialized diploma in architecture (DSA) with a specialization in "architecture and heritage". The Ministry of Culture exercises educational supervision over all of these training courses and ensures the unity of this teaching. The training of architect combines teaching specific to the architectural discipline (the architectural and urban project, the history and theory of architecture and the city, the representation of space) enriched and articulated with knowledge from other disciplines (the arts, sociology, history, science and technology, urban planning, landscape, computer science, modern languages). Two ENSAP (National Schools of Architecture and Landscape), in Bordeaux and Lille, also provide training preparing students for the State Diploma of Landscaper. Since the start of the 2017 school year, access to ENSA training has been via Parcoursup (formerly APB) followed by an oral interview. Director: Blandine Maire
