Short days, night drives, snow, ice and storms on the route in temperatures of up to -30 °C and all this with a wide variety of electric cars. Sounds like a real challenge. This special trip, in which podcast guests Heiko and Christoph took part, is presented as the eNordkapp Challenge. We talked about their recent experiences of taking part in the eNordkapp Challenge. An event that tests the limits and possibilities of electromobility under extreme conditions. As the two explain, the challenge is to drive electric cars through demanding Nordic landscapes. Which forces the participants to deal with the reliability, efficiency and practicality of electric cars. What is particularly noteworthy is that the two did not have a particularly strong connection to e-mobility before. But their experiences in the far north have completely convinced them of it. One can even summarize it by describing the challenge itself as a kind of transformative experience that made both participants rethink their prejudices about electric cars. Despite Heiko's preference for public transport and his skepticism towards private transport, he liked the comfort and driving style of e-cars. Christoph, who already had experience with electric cars through his employer, used the challenge to test long-distance suitability and reliability under extreme conditions. Heiko and Christoph were also impressed by the charging infrastructure of e-cars in the far north. But not only that, the Nordic landscapes also left their impression. Special challenges such as extreme cold, which affected the energy consumption of the vehicles, and the need to plan trips carefully in order to always have access to charging options, were therefore also discussed. The current episode ends with reflections on the personal and technological insights gained from participating in the eNordkapp Challenge. Heiko and Christoph emphasize how the experience has changed their view of e-cars and sustainable mobility and talk about the possibility of taking similar adventures in other climates in the future. But that's something you'll best hear for yourself. Disclaimer: This episode from April 14, 2024 was uploaded afterwards. Contribution to the episode: https://www.elektroauto-news.net/news...
