English Bulldog: The unmistakable English Bulldog, now officially known simply as “Bulldog,” is the symbolic breed of its country of origin, England. From its past linked to bloody battles and great bravery, all that remains is its unique appearance with a “few friends” expression. The modern Bulldog is a dog with an extremely peaceful and somewhat lazy nature. The docility of this breed actually contrasts with its grumpy and intimidating appearance. This unique appearance, by the way, has made this dog the most popular mascot among North American universities and teams. The Bulldog symbolizes strength, with its visible muscles and stocky build, but at the same time, with an adorable caricatured appearance. One of the most emblematic and well-known breeds in the world, the Bulldog has fans everywhere and passionate owners who often say that “a life is not complete if you haven’t had a bulldog!” In this video, Cinofilia Digital interviewed the well-known breeder Carlos Albuquerque, from Canil Javary. A Bulldog Breed Specialist Judge (CBKC) with twenty years of experience and countless international judgments, Carlos is a regular judge at specialized shows abroad, as well as an exhibitor, with Bulldogs that have won championships in several countries. We also got to meet a champion here in Brazil: Jorge, a beautiful specimen owned by enthusiast and aficionado César Crisóstomo. Jorge has won countless awards at Brazilian shows, making him the number 1 Bulldog in Brazil. César is so excited that he is already planning to have his own kennel, with the name Dodsworth. In addition to shining in the show rings, Jorge is an excellent companion to his owner, showing that it is possible to be a star in the show rings and also the “lazy king of the couch”.
