This Friday, at 11:52, citizens in several cities in Serbia stopped for 15 minutes, paying tribute to those killed at the Novi Sad Railway Station. In numerous locations, citizens spontaneously got out of their cars, buildings and offices. With a fifteen-minute performance of silence, they are also demanding the prosecution of all those responsible for this tragedy. Students, who have been blocking faculties for the past two weeks, are also participating in these actions en masse. Through the blockades, they are demanding responsibility for the accident in Novi Sad, the opening of documentation related to the renovation of the station in that city, as well as the prosecution of the attackers on the students. The collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station killed 15 people, while two are seriously injured and are still in hospital. Engineer Zoran Đajić said that corrosion was not the cause of the collapse of the canopy and that everyone who organized, carried out and supervised the work should be held responsible.
