On May 5, 2017, a special exhibition of the Kiha 58 was held at the Golden Week event "Fan-shaped Children's Festival." The engine was restored and placed on a turntable for a demonstration of rotation. The Kiha 58 was once synonymous with express diesel railcars that were active all over the country. Hopefully, it will move even if only for a short distance... *During the turntable rotation, it stops once due to a problem and rotates in the opposite direction. This is thought to be due to the weight balance of the Kiha 58 on the turntable, causing the gears of the rotation device to spin freely.
