The state-owned company transferred much of its administration to Vila Leopoldina and the giant was left empty. Million-dollar renovations and many promises later, it remains unused. The city government even promised, in March 2023, to create a city monitoring center, which would hypothetically attract tourists. It was opened in another building, also empty.
