For a good week now, not much has been happening on the Moselle and Saar: the reason is an accident at the Müden lock near Treis-Karden in Rhineland-Palatinate. A ship had rammed and destroyed a lock gate. Since then, around 70 ships have been stuck along the Moselle and Saar. They actually want to continue towards the Rhine, but cannot get past the broken lock. It will take several months until a new lock gate is made.
