This film shows, among other things, pictures taken by Jürgen Christoffers, the emergency commander of the Emden fire brigade, during his deployments in the Second World War after the bombings. He was not the only one out and about, but also other people who secretly photographed the damage in the city area. For example, 14-year-old Karl-Heinz Schmager with a Box 6/9 or Heinrich Holste, who also wrote a diary and collected leaflets. Secretly taking photos and collecting leaflets was severely punished. Dr. Kessler also took photos from the roof window of his house. The pictures are historical documents, and I am particularly concerned about preserving them.
