Are you familiar with a technology that prevents soil degradation without hindering the successive cultivation of soybeans and corn? We are talking about the corn-brachiaria intercropping production system, a technology developed by Embrapa that preserves soil moisture, prevents erosion and increases productivity. In the Central-West region of Brazil, and in parts of the states of Paraná and São Paulo, where production is based on the soybean-corn off-season succession, both crops benefit from pasture intercropped with corn. This technology is also suitable for the Crop-Livestock Integration (iLP) system, because the farmer benefits from the coverage and improvement of the physical and chemical conditions of the soil, and the livestock farmer can have quality feed for the animals during the off-season. The video explains step by step how to implement the technology. Responsible for the video: Gessí Ceccon - Analyst - Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste
