The lock control unit has two ways of activation, one of them through the master lock as I mentioned above and also through the alarm command, this has two wires that send a negative signal to the lock control unit as it activates and deactivates the alarm so that the system locks the car doors. Knowing how the lock control unit works, we can then simulate its operation and test it on the bench to know if it is working properly. To perform the test, we don't necessarily need a set of locks. We can use a turn signal bulb, which has a similar power consumption and is more likely to be found within reach at the time of the test. With this test bulb in hand, we can perform the test as follows: connect the two wires of the bulb to the green and blue wires of the lock control unit, supply the red and black wires with the positive and negative signal, and identify the brown and white wires, which will activate the lock. To perform the activation test, apply a negative signal to the white wire and the bulb should turn on for one second and turn off, even if the signal remains negative on the white wire. The test is exactly the same for the brown wire. These green and blue wires actually reverse polarity when we apply a negative signal to the brown and white wires, but for the purpose of testing, the bulb will turn on in the same way. If the test shows this result and turns on the bulb for one second every time the negative signal is sent to the test wires, then it means that the lock control unit is working perfectly.
