Founder and leader of Os Serranos, a traditional gaúcha music group that has been on the road for over 40 years, Edson Dutra is one of the most respected pipers in Rio Grande do Sul. A lawyer by training, he once shared an office with Nico Fagundes, another icon of the traditionalist culture of his state, but his talent and passion for music made Edson leave his profession and dedicate himself exclusively to the harmonica and the group. At the beginning of his career, he was a student of the Bertussi Brothers, and today he is highly praised by the great master Adelar, who considers him one of the greatest representatives of the 'Bertussi way' of playing. Edson, in addition to being a musician, is very knowledgeable about the traditions of his people, and shared stories and convictions, drawing parallels between the time when he was young and the current situation, about the formation and preservation of Gaucho culture, in an interview given to the series The Miracle of Santa Luzia.
