Wagner Ruiz, Alphonse Voight and João Del Vale founded Ebanx. The business idea was to help large international companies process payments for Brazilian customers, meeting all the peculiarities of the local system, including boleto. After one year of operation, the 12-person startup gained a conglomerate of over 100,000 employees as clients. With AliExpress, one of the websites of the Japanese group Alibaba, on the client list, bringing in other giants became easier. In 2019, the company was valued at over US$ 1 billion in its second round of investment. With this, the startup became the first unicorn in the southern region of the country.
