If you remember, not long ago, Uncle made a clip of eating across the border from Mae Sot to Myawaddy, Burma. In this clip, Uncle will go down to the southernmost part of Siam to eat across the border again, from Betong, Yala Province, through the Thai-Malaysian border, to Penang... For this trip, Uncle came with a gang of foodies, all of whom are top-notch. Let me tell you that this trip will be full of eating and traveling. The first restaurant we started at was on the Malaysian side, with a famous bak kut teh restaurant in the Jelutong area, 'Yi Pin Xiang Bak Kut Teh.' Their 'Dry Bak Kut Teh' is stir-fried dry with both pork ribs and pork belly. The flavor is rich. When eating, Uncle likes to scoop up the thick, sticky soup and pour it over rice and eat it with the meat. 'Bak kut teh soup' is packed with ingredients, including pork intestines, pork tails, meatballs, and tofu. The smell of Chinese herbs here is not strong, while the flavor is sweeter than at home. After the first meal, we crossed over to Betong to continue at 'Baan Khun Chai Restaurant', a local restaurant in Betong. The texture of 'Betong Chicken' is different from that of capon chicken, meaning there is no fat in the meat layer, the skin is crispy, the meat is soft, fragrant and has a unique smell. 'Fried Mountain Frog with Garlic' is a big one, fried until crispy and fragrant with garlic. When you bite into it, you will find only pure meat, firm, can be said to eat with a full mouth, not losing to chicken. Another highlight in Betong that you must not miss is 'Skywalk Ayerweng Betong', a spot to see the sea of mist and the sunrise that is extremely beautiful. Seeing it with your own eyes is like a painting in a novel. The view is beautiful, the air is fresh and most importantly, from this point you can see the sea of mist all year round. For those who want to relax, here there is 'Betong Hot Springs' where you can come and soak your feet in the natural hot spring for free. 'Piyamit Tunnel' is a historical tunnel from the communist group's battle before it became the city of Betong. 'Phunapha Camping' here will bring together Betong's street food for breakfast to serve us amidst the sea of mist on the mountaintop. The menu has a lot to choose from, such as grilled pork, fish maw, steamed fresh tofu, Betong stewed beef, Malaysian curry, etc. It's called both the food and the atmosphere are awesome. 'Sai Nam Lai Tilapia Farm (Ko Ngiu)' The tilapia here is raised in natural flowing water stairs, relying on cold water from the mountains that flows all the time. This results in fish with firm meat and low fat. Importantly, the ponds here do not have green algae that gives the fish a muddy smell. The tilapia here is sold by weight. One fish can be cooked in 3 ways. 'Tilapia Sashimi' its meat is soft and chewy, with no fishy smell. The smell and texture are like sea fish. 'Shabu' is sliced into bite-sized pieces with skin still attached. The meat is fresh, firm and bouncy. Boil until cooked and eat with seafood sauce. 'Steamed Tilapia Head with Lime' The fish head has a little fat, steamed with lime, the taste is strong, sour and spicy, it is a great snack. Which is a trip to eat a lot across the border Uncle's "Betong-Penang" still has a long way to go. In the next clip, Uncle will still be in Betong. I will take you to eat Betong's famous street food. Let me tell you that there are still many great restaurants waiting. What interesting things will there be? Please wait and see. —-— Yi Pin Xiang Bak Kut Teh is open 10:30-22:30.
