Hello, I am Ömer Emre Demir and I am studying at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Medicine. I started studying with a score of 0 in 2018 and ended up with a score of 3321 in the numerical field in the 2019 YKS. I made many mistakes this year, but none of these mistakes discouraged me. I continued to study without giving up, learning from my mistakes, and I succeeded. You can watch the video to learn how I established a study system and achieved success within a year. After not studying properly and systematically until the 12th grade, I established a study system that I planned for myself in September of the 12th grade to realize my dream of medical school and reach my goal. In this system, contrary to what most people do, I gave great importance to sleep and my sleeping hours were 8 hours a day as I mentioned in the video (yes, you don't need to start from 0 and sleep for 4 hours and study for 20 hours to reach your dreams. Besides, it is unknown how much of the 20 hours you will spend productively by studying this way and how much of the topics you studied in these 20 hours you will be able to remember and solve questions 2 days later..). I arranged my night and afternoon sleep to maximize my studying efficiency. By providing a balance of sleep-memory-learning, I learned the topics quickly while studying and increased my motivation and since I did not forget the topics again, I did not need to repeat them (I only solved questions from the topics I finished occasionally. I did not look at the subject explanation book additionally, I did not watch videos etc.). When planning my studying system, the thing I gave the most importance to after sleep was solving questions. I can say that I solved all the resources that came my way. Although some resources were inefficient, constantly solving questions in this way helped me both to learn the subject thoroughly and to master it and never forget it again. Remember, the most efficient system for you does not consist of classical systems. You should find this system according to your own sleep-wake and work efficiency balance. So what does work efficiency mean? How many hours can you work completely focused and productively without sleeping or dealing with anything distracting your focus, taking only 10-15 minute breaks in between? The answer to this question shows how many hours of work you will get maximum efficiency from, and you should establish your sleep-wake-work balance according to your answer to this question. How many hours a day was I working? As I mentioned in the video, I was working from a fixed time of 7 pm to 12.30 pm every day. Apart from that, I was studying by solving questions during breaks, lunch breaks, and question and solution classes at school if I didn't have any questions to solve. In short, I was filling every free time I found by solving questions. I was working an average of 9 hours a day. But before planning all of these, you should believe in yourself and that you will succeed, without listening to the people around you. If you do not believe in yourself, you will only progress on the path you have entered until your motivation is sufficient. If you really want to be successful, you should start with motivation and end with discipline. A person who does not even believe that he/she will succeed will never be able to establish discipline after his/her motivation is gone. Therefore, even if every person around you tells you that you cannot win, that you are not disciplined, that you are not smart, that you are not determined enough, that you cannot make the necessary sacrifices, you will not listen to any of them. The only person who can make your dream come true is YOU. When you achieve your dreams, the people who will come to congratulate you will be the people who told you these things while you were preparing for the exam. Therefore, no matter what anyone says or thinks, you will first believe in yourself and then that you can succeed, you will establish your system and you WILL REACH your dreams thanks to your discipline. How did I get into medical school starting from 0? How did I go from 58 to 102 net in TYT and from 24 to 72 net in AYT? How did I adapt to school and work while having a problematic high school life? What was my sleep-wake cycle like during my exam year, what was I doing in a day? What was my study system like? What was my motivation and most importantly my discipline like during my exam year? I answered all of these questions in the video. If there is anything else you want me to tell about my exam year, you can state it in the comments.
