They are one of the most interesting new products in the adventure tire panorama. The Dunlop Trailmax Raid are designed for those who really do a bit of everything with the maxi enduro. Asphalt, travel, off-road of course. After the press test that you can find here https://www.moto.it/prove/dunlop-trai... we tried them again on the Yamaha Ténéré 700 in a somewhat crazy test. Ok, the asphalt first, but then we shot the Motocross track in Chieve. Not so much to do jumps go-go, but to test the traction and grip qualities of the Dunlop knobs in extreme conditions, on a soft and fearsome sandy surface for a 200 kg bike. The Dunlop Trailmax Raid have excellent road holding, which however does not limit the pleasure of off-road riding. Here I appreciated the great traction of the rear and the excellent insertion of the front, even with the bike leaning. Only when exiting a bend, if you overdo the throttle with the bike leaning, you notice how easy it is to start a skid, which however remains largely controllable by dosing the throttle. Developed for 50/50 on-road and off-road use, Trailmax Raid combines the experience and technology of Dunlop's adventure and touring tire range with that of the off-road segment. It can be fitted to a wide range of motorcycles, from medium dual sport to large adventure bikes. Dunlop Trailmax Raid offers safety and off-road maneuverability, as well as ensuring wet performance and the mileage of a sport touring tire. Trailmax Raid is part of Dunlop's trail range together with Trailmax Meridian, another tire popular with adventure bikers. Trailmax Meridian is however designed for those who only occasionally ride off-road - 90% on-road/ 10% off-road - while Trailmax Raid meets the needs of those who venture off-road with the same regularity with which they ride on the road. The design was inspired by the Dunlop D908RR, a rally raid tire characterized by large cross blocks on the tread that have become a fundamental part of the Trailmax Raid tire. Trailmax Raid will be available in three front sizes for 19 and 21-inch rims and in six rear sizes for 17 and 18-inch rims. The first sizes will be available from March 1st 2023, while the remaining ones will be released in the second quarter of 2023.
