The Elbe is to Dresden like the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. It is not for nothing that the Saxon state capital is also called the Florence of the Elbe, the cultural gem on the river. We drove from Dresden up the Elbe towards Saxon Switzerland (Elbe Sandstone Mountains). The Elbe Sandstone Mountains are located in the border region between Saxony and the Czech Republic, around 50 km south of Dresden. Geographically, the 700 km² area borders the Lusatian Mountains to the east and the Eastern Ore Mountains to the west. Filming then took place in Bad Schandau and then we returned to Dresden. Recorded in 4:3 format with a Panasonic video camera with a separate NV-180 recorder and a VHS cassette. And that was during the GDR era - amazing! I received permission to film in the GDR from the "Permanent Representation of the GDR" in Bonn.
