They demonstrate the courage and will to implement their own ideas and take on responsibility. Their innovative power and diverse business models are shaping the future of the German economy. Last but not least, the prize winners show how creative and diverse the start-up scene in Germany is." The Prize The German Founders' Prize is the most important award for outstanding entrepreneurs in Germany. The aim of the initiative is to promote a positive start-up climate in Germany and to encourage self-employment. The prize is awarded annually in the categories of students, start-ups, up-and-comers and life's work. Exceptional entrepreneurial achievements can be recognized with a special prize. The German Founders' Prize is awarded by the partners stern, Sparkassen, ZDF and Porsche. The partners have been committed to promoting entrepreneurship and the start-up culture since 1997. The initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, well-known sponsors, a high-caliber board of trustees and a network of experts. Finalists in the StartUp category The finalists for the 2015 German Founders' Prize in the StartUp and Up-and-Comers categories have been determined. Six outstanding companies were nominated by the jury. German Founders' Prize goes online: Whether search engine optimization, online portal or website creation - this year's nominees impress with digital business models. But it is not just the Internet that connects the finalists - but above all their courage and entrepreneurial spirit. Because everyone agrees: There is nothing better than starting a business and realizing your own ideas. In the StartUp category, the prize focuses on companies that are one to three years old at the most and that have established their business idea particularly successfully on the market. Finalists in the Up-and-Comers category The Up-and-Comers category recognizes companies that are no older than nine years and have already achieved extraordinary growth. The companies were nominated by around 300 experts from the German Founders' Award. They come from renowned companies, technology centers, ministries, start-up initiatives and the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. The experts have years of experience with company start-ups, excellent contacts in the business scene and very good industry knowledge. Coaching, sponsorship and media training The six finalists receive individual coaching tailored to their needs from the management consultancy Porsche Consulting GmbH. In addition, members of the Board of Trustees of the German Founders' Award will sponsor each finalist for a period of two years and make their know-how and experience available. The companies also receive media training from ZDF and access to the German Founders' Award alumni network.
