Drahomír Suchánek (*1972 in Brno) studied the history of international relations and world politics at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and Catholic theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the same university. He currently works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and at the Faculty of Arts of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. He focuses on the issues of church and medieval history and focuses his research on the field of papal history and relations between spiritual and secular power. He is the author of the monographs Imperium et sacerdotium: the imperial church at the turn of the first and second centuries (2011), Ius exclusivae: the right of exclusivity at papal elections (2012) and a number of professional studies on the topic of church history.
