Vegeta and Trunks arrive at the islands where they encounter Cell, then No. 16 and 18, and Krillin. The fight begins with a punch from Vegeta, and Cell is left a little sore from the attack. Vegeta then punches him in the chin, lifting him up, then elbows him in the stomach. Cell falls down and Vegeta continues to punch him, Cell tries to attack Vegeta, but Vegeta heads down diagonally, grabs his foot and throws him down, causing Cell to fall to the ground. The fight stops for a moment and there is an exchange of words between Cell and Vegeta. The fight continues, and Cell goes towards Vegeta with the intention of hitting him, but Vegeta dodges his moves without difficulty, then Vegeta throws Cell into a mountain with a punch, Vegeta goes towards Cell again and throws him with an elbow in the back, causing Cell to fall into the water. Cell then attempts to stab Vegeta with his stinger, but Vegeta dodges it and punches him several times in the chin. Cell then attempts to attack Vegeta with a Big Bang Mouth Shock, but Vegeta teleports away and dodges the attack. Vegeta, distracted, does not realize that Cell was going to attack him, and so he did, he punched him, and then, when Vegeta was falling, he attempted another Big Bang Mouth Shock. Cell laughed, thinking that he had already defeated Vegeta, but he had not. Vegeta appears behind him, and drags him up, punching him. Cell then makes all the islands shake, swelling the ground a lot, in order to recharge his strength. Cell goes towards Vegeta and attempts to hit him, and succeeds. Cell imagines that he did a lot of damage to Vegeta, but on the contrary, Vegeta says: -So that's all you can do? The fight continues and Cell becomes furious when he hears Vegeta mocking him, he becomes enraged and begins to shake the entire Earth. Then, Cell launches one of his own techniques at Vegeta, the Galick Cannon, but Vegeta does nothing to defend himself, since that attack does not cause any damage to him. Cell begins to attack Vegeta again, first, he tries to knock him down with his tail, but Vegeta rises up and moves behind Cell, when he is already behind, he kicks him in the cheek and then kicks him in the spine. Then, Cell becomes even more enraged and teleports behind Vegeta, when he is behind, he tries to punch him, but Vegeta reacts by grabbing his hand and throwing him away. Cell chases Vegeta, but he launches a Ki Blast at him and Cell falls back down, then, Vegeta continues to launch Ki Blasts at him, generating an explosion on a small island. Cell appears behind Vegeta and grabs his legs, then tries to stab him with the stinger, but Vegeta stops him, and grabs him with his arm, then Vegeta elbows him in the stomach, and Cell, due to the pain, lets go, Vegeta holds him with one hand, so that Cell does not fall, Vegeta lets go and punches him, knocking him into the water. Vegeta tells Cell to come closer, he follows Vegeta under the water, then, to find Vegeta, Cell starts firing Ki Bursts, Vegeta appears behind Cell, under the ground, grabs him by the feet, Cell tries to hit him and Vegeta dodges it, Vegeta punches him in the stomach, a kick to the neck, a punch to the face, and finally Cell starts telling Vegeta that if he fully developed, he could never beat him, and upon hearing this, Vegeta gives him a strong kick to the head followed by a Big Bang Attack. This is how the fight ends, Vegeta wins, thanks to the fact that he lets Cell find 18 to absorb her, which would be a serious mistake for Vegeta.
