High blood pressure is a common disease of our time, which if neglected can have long-term consequences. Dr. Gabriella Herczeg, a doctor at Finnamed Clinic, talks about health risks. Hypertension is considered a common disease in developed countries. About 15 percent of the population has a blood pressure above the limit value for high blood pressure, i.e. 140/80 mm Hg. However, it is feared that it actually affects many more people. The disease accounts for almost 5,000 deaths in Hungary every year. According to other estimates, the situation is even more worrying, as high blood pressure plays a role in every 8th death, thus leaving cancer diseases behind.
