Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (University of Houston, 1972) and a Post-doctoral Fellowship (Brandeis University). She introduced community psychology to Italy and in 1985 she became a full professor of the same discipline. She founded the European Network of Community Psychology and is a founding member of the European Network of Affective Education and the European Community Psychology Association. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Journal of Community and Applied Social Psychology and of the magazine Psicologia di Comunità. She is the author of 21 books, translated into Spanish, Portuguese, French and Japanese and of about 150 articles in Italian and international magazines on topics of social psychology (in particular in the fields of environmental psychology, political psychology, community psychology and psychology of small groups) and of work and organizational psychology (areas related to the evaluation of various face-to-face and online training methods and the organizational development of private, public and third sector settings). She has held lectures and seminars at universities in several countries (Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Portugal and South Africa). She has been invited to give opening talks on her innovative theoretical and methodological contributions at various international conferences of Work and Organisational Psychology in Budapest (1987), Cambridge (1989), of Community Psychology in Lisbon (1995), Vienna (1997), Bergen (2000), Berlin (2004), Puerto Rico (2006) and Pasadena (USA) (2007). From 1992 to 1995 she was the national scientific coordinator of a program on women in development processes; from 2000 to 2003 of a MURST project on distance learning, carried out with colleagues from Bocconi University; in the two-year period 2005-2006 of a project to evaluate the role of the online tutor. She has been a member of the teaching staff of various doctoral cycles in Psychology. He is a member of the AIP and APA, EACP.
