Thank you!! ???? DRIVING TEST: CHECK THESE THINGS BEFORE LEAVING. In this video I show you a check that you absolutely must not forget to do before leaving for the driving test. Initials and let's get started. The first thing to do when you get in the car is obviously to adjust the driving position, therefore adjusting the seat, the steering wheel and the mirrors. If I were to ask you now what you still need to do before setting off, I think most people would probably answer that you need to turn on your turn signal to let you know that you want to enter the flow of traffic, and obviously check with your mirrors and then with a sideways glance to the side of you that there are no vehicles approaching that you should give way to. If this was your answer, know that you are risking seeing the test end a few meters after you set off. There is another fundamental thing to do after starting the car, but before setting off, and that is to look at the instrument panel in front of you. You may be wondering why, and the explanation is very simple: it will tell you what you might have forgotten to do. Because of the emotion of the test, it can happen that you forget to do something important before setting off, or that you do it, but not in a precise and correct manner. I am mainly referring to three things, and they are these. One, not putting on your seat belt. It is known that leaving for an exam without a seat belt fastened will most likely mean seeing it end instantly. So, before leaving, check that the warning light in the instrument panel in front of you does not indicate that the seat belt is not fastened. And be careful because the warning light also comes on if it is not necessarily YOUR seat belt that is not fastened, but that of some passenger, and it will be the driver who must make sure of this. The second thing you must make sure of before leaving is that you have removed the handbrake, or possibly removed it properly, because sometimes it is not lowered completely and remains partially pulled. I suggest always removing it before starting the engine, but among the various things to do you can also forget about it. So, before setting off, you need to check the instrument panel to make sure that the handbrake light is not on, which is the red one marked with the letter P. The third and final thing to make sure of before setting off is that all the doors have been closed correctly, and to be sure, as already seen in the two previous cases, you just need to check the instrument panel and make sure that the red light for open doors is not on. The driver may have closed it incorrectly, but also one of the passengers. It will be up to the driver to make sure that everything is in order. And So, after starting the engine but before setting off, check that no red lights are on in the instrument panel, and specifically the one for seat belts not fastened, the one for the handbrake not lowered and finally the one for open doors.
