It is produced by the Agios Maximos the Greek Institute with research and journalistic editing by Dimitris Stroumbakos. Agios Kallinikos, born Dimitrios Poulos, was born on January 26, 1919 in Sitaralona of Thermos (Aitoloakarnania), a village near the southeastern shores of Lake Trichonida. His parents, George and Catherine, were simple but God-fearing, blessed people. They had seven children. Dimitrios was the fourth. He came from a Levite family. His grandfather Athanasios was a priest, His brother Konstantinos became Metropolitan of Didymoteicho, His sister's husband was a priest, just as His younger brother Ioannis was also a priest in Sitaralona. He knew "from infancy the holy letters" (II Tim. 3, 15), because he grew up in a holy environment, in a patriarchal family with the Levite presence of his grandfather Athanasios, a priestly Clergyman.
