When the name Mongolia is mentioned, most of us think of the great empire of Genghis Khan. This film takes a look at Mongolian history and provides a glimpse into modern Mongolian culture in the little-known country in Central Asia. A land of forests, deserts, and steppes, Mongolia is bordered by Russia to the north and China to the south, but today it is influenced primarily by South Korea and the West. In this documentary, writers, journalists, historians, archaeologists, and locals recount the history of the vast empire, which was once the largest occupied territory in the world when the unified Mongol tribes conquered Asia and Eastern Europe. The film also takes a look at the personality of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongol Empire, and explores the empire’s multifaceted legacy that extends to the present day. The film is directed and produced by Robert Lieberman and Deborah See and produced by PSP Productions. #Documentary #DocumentaryDW #DW #Mongolia #GenghisKhan #History ـــــ A call for dialogue at DW: https://p.dw.com/p/OYIo More documentaries can be found on our websites in English: http://www.dw.com/ar/tv/docfilm/s-3610 / dwdocumentary / dw.stories
