October 7, 2023 became a traumatic day for Israel. Hamas terrorists attacked and indiscriminately killed innocent people. In total, over 1,200 people died that day as a result of the Hamas terror attack, and more than 240 were taken hostage to the Gaza Strip. Israel responded with an ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Hamas. ZDF correspondent Michael Bewerunge and his team have been observing the war ever since, repeatedly meeting relatives of victims and people in Israel and Gaza and following their fate. They visited a survivor of the massacre at the music festival and went with her to the festival a year later.
