About :

"Home" is a 2009 documentary film co-written by world-renowned wildlife photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and director Luc Besson. Duration: 01:52:58 Starring: Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Glenn Close, Jacques Gamblin This incredibly spectacular film by the legendary Yann Arthus-Bertrand shows the viewer the true beauty and grandeur of planet Earth. The endless Okavango River and the mighty Kilimanjaro volcano, the pristine landscapes of Iceland and the icy expanses of Antarctica - the entire boundless palette of colors of the living world from a bird's eye view. This is our common home, which is as amazing as it is defenseless against the destructive activities of man. The devastating effects of industrial occupation, man-made disasters and military actions inflict inexorable damage on the planet, revealing the real situation to the viewer. The film consists almost entirely of aerial views of different places on Earth. The voiceover tells of an ecological catastrophe threatening the planet. The entire film was shot from a helicopter using a high-definition camera. Over the course of 18 months, the film crew visited 53 countries around the world. In some countries, such as China and Saudi Arabia, the director was denied permission to film from the air. In India, half of the footage was confiscated, and in Argentina, Arthus-Bertrand and his assistants had to spend a week in prison. The film premiered on June 5, 2009, World Environment Day. The film was simultaneously broadcast on the largest platforms in 87 countries around the world in the format of an open free screening. In many countries, the film, the demonstration of which, according to the director, "bordered on a political appeal", was banned from showing. The version of the film for the Internet, television and DVD release lasts 90 minutes, the version for cinemas - 120 minutes. The film was released in several languages at once: Arabic, English, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Kurdish. The voice-over in the original version for cinemas was read by Jacques Gamblin (French), and in the TV version by Arthus-Bertrand himself (French). The film is distributed free of charge. The owners of the rights to the film and its distribution (PPR Group and EuropaCorp) also agreed not to use it for commercial purposes. "The profit we expect from the film is not calculated in dollars or euros, but in the number of people who will watch the film, who will think," said Arthus-Bertrand.
