Jews, Israelis and Palestinians have lived through a year of fear and anger in Berlin. Since October 7, 2023, anti-Semitic incidents have increased, while police have dealt harshly with Palestinian demonstrations. Many Palestinians feel that their grief and concern for their homeland are not taken seriously, and rational voices are often lost in the noise. The film follows the young Palestinian Jackie, who, a year after the war, feels that Berlin is no longer her home. It also follows the Israeli Maya, who confronts anti-Semitism with force despite her fears. The film also highlights the Jewish Berliner Susanne, who has strengthened her Jewish identity and finds solace in the synagogue. In addition, trust in the media has diminished, as Palestinians often feel equated with extremists, and many no longer speak out for fear of being misunderstood. The film offers a glimpse into the lives of all of them, asking: How did they experience the developments that marked the past year? And do they still feel that Berlin is their home? Which voices have been silenced, and which have been raised? ـــــ #Documentary #DW #dwdocs #Gaza #Israel #Palestine ـــــ A call for dialogue at DW: https://p.dw.com/p/OYIo More documentaries can be found on our websites in English: http://www.dw.com/ar/tv/docfilm/s-3610 / dwdocumentary / dw.stories
