???? Words ???? Acts of the Apostles 8,26-40 (RÚF) And the angel of the Lord said to Philip: Get up and go south to the road leading from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is uninhabited. He got up and started walking. And behold, an Ethiopian man, the courtier of Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians, who was appointed over all her treasury and went to Jerusalem to worship God, was sitting in his chariot on his way back reading the prophet Isaiah. This is what the Spirit said to Philip: Go there and join that carriage! When Philip ran there, he heard the prophet Isaiah reading, and asked him: Do you understand what you are reading? To this he replied: How can I understand if someone doesn't explain it? And he asked Philip to get up and sit next to him. The passage of Scripture that he read was: “As a sheep is led to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearers, so it does not open its mouth. In his humiliation, the judgment was passed on him, who could list his nationality? Because his life will be taken up from the earth.” The chief asked Philip: Please, about whom does the prophet say this? About yourself or someone else? Philip began to speak and, starting from this place in the Scripture, preached Jesus to him. As they continued on the road, they came to some water, and the chief said: Behold, here is the water! What prevents me from being baptized? This is what Fílöp told him: If you believe with all your heart, it can be done. And he answered: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He ordered the carriage to stop, and both Philip and the chief man went down into the water, and he baptized him. When they came out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord took Philip away, and the chieftain did not see him anymore, but continued on his way rejoicing. And Philip went to Azotos and went through all the cities, preaching the gospel until he reached Caesarea.
