Everyone is talking about how Euro 6 motorhomes need a charging booster because the intelligent alternator messes up the vehicle electronics. We also have a motorhome with the Euro 6 standard and recently switched to lithium batteries. But our motorhome didn't need a charging booster, but something else. And sometimes it's good to have less intelligence in the vehicle. We are self-sufficient with our 5-star Chausson and recently switched to lithium batteries. In a 3-part video, I described the conversion in detail, with all the costs. But in the third part of the video, it became clear that something was wrong. When the engine was started, the alternator didn't want to charge the auxiliary batteries properly. What was going on? I was sure that it had to be something to do with the intelligent alternator and that a charging booster would definitely solve the problem. No sooner said than done. But then I stopped again, thought about it and checked. And to my surprise, the problem wasn't the alternator. A charging booster would have shown no change at all. Ultimately, it was superfluous.
