Soseongnamdo, a remote island in Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do. There is a man who guards the island alone, where all the people have left. Eight years ago, Mr. Lee Bok-min returned to his hometown of Soseongnamdo, where he has lived for generations, in search of a place to rest his tired and sick body. On an island, everything must be self-sufficient. He gets his daily food by fishing and trapping, and he climbs the rocks without hesitation to dig up medicinal herbs. The waves are strong, so fishing is not easy, but the conger eel and black rockfish caught from the traps he had cast in advance are a seasonal delicacy. An acquaintance, Mr. Kim Ok-su, who does not hesitate to travel four hours by sea to find his brother. The two head to the ocean, Mr. Lee Bok-min’s paradise and playground. He loses track of time and is absorbed in catching turtles...
