Son of the late pastor Francisco Assis Gomes and Izabel Nunes Gomes. Brother of Heli, who has passed away, and twin of Essi, who lives in Rio de Janeiro. He learned to read at the age of three and by the age of seven had already read the entire Bible. Married to Pastor Maura de Oliveira Gomes, from whom six children were born: Pastors Jay Jadhiel (California, USA), Joel (California, USA), Geziel (fondly memory), Jeriel (Florida, USA), Jesimiel Moisés (Florida, USA) and Queila (Florida). He has 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and nephews. He has been a journalist since 1959. Ordained to the sacred ministry on May 15, 1960, at the AD temple in S. Cristóvão, RJ. Of which church he was co-pastor and vice-president for about two decades. Co-founder of EPOE – School for the Preparation of Evangelical Workers, of the AD in S. Cristóvão, Rio, RJ.
