In the animation, I deliberately increased the length of the part for greater clarity. In fact, everything is the other way around. But pay attention to the joint line of two veneer sheets - it is oblique. This is not always appropriate, but for shelves and partitions inside the cabinet it is quite acceptable. I connect the veneer sheets with masking tape. It is important to connect the sheets tightly without a gap, but in no case allow overlaps. After the sheets are connected, I put the part for veneering on the assembled shirt and align it along the wooden edge. I cut off a small overhang of veneer on the back side with a knife. I mark the ends with a pencil, and then cut them with scissors. At the same time, I glued masking tape along the entire length of the cut in advance so that the veneer does not crumble along the ends. A simple shirt made of walnut veneer is ready. Looking ahead, I will show a shelf from this set. The oblique joint is visible, but it does not spoil the appearance of the product at all. For veneering, I now use only polyurethane glue. PVA, like any water-based material, loosens the surface of MDF or plywood. They, as a rule, form a less moisture-resistant adhesive layer. Water-based glue quickly weathers, and unstuck areas are possible. But the main thing: if you put such a shirt of four sheets on a layer of PVA, then in a few seconds each sheet will curl up almost into tubes, you need to work very quickly. After drying, the PVA adhesive layer shrinks strongly. Polyurethane glue, on the contrary, absorbs moisture for polymerization, and then forms a high-quality moisture-resistant film. It allows you to work slowly, you can lay out veneer on it without any fear of twisting sheets. You can calmly straighten the shirt on the surface of the part, check the joints, possible overlaps. It costs more, but the consumption is much less than PVA. As a result, the cost of a square meter of adhesive layer will be comparable.
