The last legislative elections, decided by the surprise dissolution of Emmanuel Macron, were supposed to clarify French political life. They resulted in an unprecedented blockage of our democracy, divided into three irreconcilable antagonistic blocs. After a brilliant Olympic Games, France seems to be in a budgetary and political impasse from which there is no way out. Is this a crisis of our institutions, or an even deeper crisis of the democratic regime itself that is producing growing dissatisfaction?
