Because: Stuttgart 21 is much more than a train station and DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm GmbH is much more than Stuttgart 21. The project company is implementing the complete reorganization of the Stuttgart rail hub with four new stations, 56 kilometers of tunnels and 42 bridges. As a pioneer for the digitization of the railway throughout Germany, the team at DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm GmbH is driving forward the pilot project Digital Node Stuttgart. With other future projects such as the Pfaffensteig tunnel, the PSU is making the southwest fit for the Deutschlandtakt. Stuttgart 21 is the complete reorganization of the Stuttgart rail hub. The joint project was agreed in 2009 with the financing agreement between the federal government, the state of Baden-Württemberg, the state capital of Stuttgart, the Stuttgart Region Association, Stuttgart Airport GmbH and Deutsche Bahn. The following will be built: four new train stations 56 kilometers of tunnel tubes 11 tunnels 42 bridges around 100 kilometers of new tracks that can be used at speeds of up to 250 km/h The new Wendlingen–Ulm line (NBS) is part of the new and expanded Stuttgart–Augsburg line and is an approximately 60-kilometer-long building block in Deutsche Bahn’s high-speed network and part of the Stuttgart–Ulm rail project. The following were built: 61 kilometers of tunnel tubes 12 tunnels 37 bridges around 120 kilometers of new tracks that can be used at speeds of up to 250 km/h Merklingen station (in addition to the project) The high-speed line has been in operation since December 2022.
