Relatively unknown, just above Barcelona. Via the ancient city wall, the Muralles de Gerona, you walk up through the city with beautiful viewpoints. We sleep in Casa Cacao, a chocolate paradise, including a roof terrace and a five-course breakfast. On to the cathedral, built in the eleventh century and known for something contemporary: a filming location for Game of Thrones. We take the car to Begur, a gem on the Costa Brava. The next day we get up at a quarter to five for a hot air balloon flight and a unique sunrise. Something for the bucket list! Don't forget the many picturesque villages around Girona, such as Castellfollit de la Roca, built entirely on a cliff. We continue to the Salvador Dalí museum in Figueres, very cool! We end in the picturesque coastal town of Cadaques.
