In France, each year more than 50,000 young people drop out of school without a diploma and without any training. For them, the unemployment rate reaches 50%. In 2005, the Villepin government launched the "Défense Deuxième Chance" centers, residential training centers set up in former military barracks and managed by retired officers. Discipline, marching, military songs, this is the center's method for reframing these disorganized young people. All volunteers, they also take French and mathematics classes and benefit from professional training. The goal of these "Défense Deuxième Chance" centers is to integrate and bring back to work 10,000 young people aged 18 to 21. What are the methods of these integration centers? For 6 months, we followed the daily lives of 6 young people at the Doullens center in Picardy. Anthony and Cédric, who are at odds with discipline, Adelaide, undecided about her professional future, Hassan, determined to prove to his parents that he is capable of success, or Alexis and Stéphane, who are soon to finish their studies at the center and are about to find a job.
